Vegas, Baby!!

On Sunday afternoon we began the drive to “Sin City” otherwise known as Las Vegas! The drive went smoothly; we followed Rob, Renee and the kids all the way there. At times it was difficult to keep up, because someone has a lead foot…….. And we didn’t want to risk getting pulled over, especially since Chance’s driving record is now CLEAN!!!! (YAY!!!!)

Around 7 or 8 PM we arrived at the LUXOR, the hotel shaped like a pyramid. We checked in at the front desk and headed off in search of the rooms. We found mine and Chance’s room right off the bat, no problem! Then it came time to find the In-Laws room. We went up elevators and down elevators, across one corner of the hotel, to the other. We made three phone calls to the front desk, desperate for directions. Each time we called, they told us different ways to get there. After about an hour of searching, Chance and I gave up and went off to our room to settle in and get ready to go out. Rob and Renee finally stumbled across their room. (THANK GOD!!)

Chance and I went to the parent’s room. Once luggage arrived, we went and walked the strip. We first went to the Buffett at the Monte Carlo, which was ridiculously priced for the amount and variety of food they had. We then continued walking the strip and came upon Margarita Ville (Jimmy Buffet) and I had a taste of my first Margarita, the night didn’t stop with one.

We walked through the Venetian and window shopped since everything was closed. It was a beautiful hotel, with paintings all over the ceilings and beautiful statues.

After that we continued walking the strip (I honestly can’t remember the last time I walked so much!!) Renee and I tried to get another Margarita at Margarita Ville, but it was closed! Dang it!

Once we got back to the hotel, I had to bandage up my feet (My shoes tore them apart!) The kids; Rodie, Riley and Addyson went off to bed while Rob & Renee and Chance & I took a shot at the slot machines. Renee put $20 in and pulled $258 out!! I put $20 in and pulled out $130, the next round I put $5 in and pulled out $72 and the next I put in $10 and got $62 back. Chance did well too; he put in a $20 and got a little over double, $46. Then we began getting a bit greedy and began losing, but we stopped after we lost $10. It just wasn’t worth losing it all!!!

The next morning we got up around 11AM and didn’t head out of the hotel till mid afternoon. Once we got out, we went to the Flamingo and ate at the Buffet. It was SOOO much better than the one at the Monte Carlo. We saw the Pink Flamingos and Giant Fish. We walked around the shops in the Flamingo after eating. We also went through Caesars and walked around a bit. I can NOT believe that there is a statue of a naked man in there, I was in awe. Actually I was giggling like a little school girl… but anyway, they had some way cute things in the shops there. R & R got me another Margarita…. This one was a yard long, with 6 shots of Tequila, how I managed to be okay after that is beyond me.

We then went to a LARGE shopping mall called the Miracle Mile. Chance finally got the pair of Oakley’s he had been BEGGING for over the last couple of months. I got a great new purse and threw my old worn out one away. Those were our wedding gifts to one another.

Once we left the mall we went to the M&M Store and the Coca Cola Store. Both shops had some great things but they were a bit pricey. I restrained myself from blowing more money. After that we went back to the hotel, cleaned up and changed and went out to dinner at a French CafĂ© in The Paris Hotel. The food was not that great and the customer service was HORRIBLE. One person would take drink orders, the other person would take the food orders and if you wanted to know something about the menu, you couldn’t ask the drink guy…. Cause he had no clue. It just wasn’t what I would call normal.

After we left dinner, Chance and I were so worn out that we just hit the sack while Rob and Renee gambled away downstairs and won around $750. I would have stayed up if I thought I would be lucky enough to pull something like that off!!!

The next morning we woke up around 11 AM, but didn’t end up leaving the hotel to do anything until about 4PM. We went to an Italian Restaurant (off the Vegas Strip) which was a bad, bad idea. But it’s not like any of us had any idea, until the damage had already been done. The bill came out and we were all in shock, I thought Rob would have a heart attack. It averaged out to be about $50 dollars a plate. Just 6 iced teas and 1 coke cost $62!!! RIDICULOUS! But oh well, Addy left him a nice tip in the toilet! LOL, I love that little girl!

Once we left the restaurant we went to the New York, New York and Chance and I took the siblings and walked around and went through the shops. I literally had to DRAG Chance out of the Harley Store. I know that when he retires, that’s the first thing he’s going to buy. I won’t stop him though… He’s already had to sell the one he had. He deserves another, when the time is right.

We walked through the New York New York (Where we saw Steven Tyler and Kid Rock) to the Excalibur where my lovely husband got me another Frozen Margarita. It was quite delicious, but I need to slow down a little. My feet are so SWOLLEN, it’s unbelievable. We left the Excalibur and went back to the New York, New York and Chance and Rodie rode the roller coaster. They both got off the ride with big grins on their face. I’m glad they got a chance to ride it; it’s always fun to try things like that.

We got in the car and drove down to old Vegas, Freemont Street. It wasn’t as lively as the strip but it was still pretty great. Everything is SO much cheaper there than on the Strip. If Chance and I are to go to Vegas again, I will request that we stay there. We saw a free concert, below are some pictures and I will try my hardest to load videos. There was an old man just dancing around, he was more entertaining than the singer himself. We went into The Golden Nugget hotel. It is immaculate, old, but great. They had an awesome water slide out in the pool that ran right through a shark tank. I couldn’t get enough pictures of everything. I need 10 different cameras going off in several different directions at once to capture everything.

Chance and I have both had an AMAZING honeymoon and are SO grateful to Rob and Renee for all that they have done for us. They have made this honeymoon as wonderful as possible. We love you both!!!

THANK YOU!!!
